Cancellation and No-Show Policy

At East Haven Veterinary Service, our goal is to provide compassionate, quality and timely care for all of our patients. Due to high demand for our services, we maintain a strict cancellation and no-show policy to ensure we can serve as many pets in need in our community as possible.

Cancellation Policy

We require at least 24 business hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations made after this time frame most often prevent us from giving the time slot to another pet in need of care. Business hours are currently defined as Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8:00AM to 6:00PM, Wednesday 8:00AM to 5:00PM and Friday 8:00AM to Noon. Business hours are subject to change. Please refer to our website for any changes.

NO-SHOW AND LATE CANCELLATION APPOINTMENT FEES

If an appointment is canceled with less than 24 business hours notice or if a client fails to show up for a scheduled appointment, an $80 fee will be charged to the account. This policy applies to all doctor appointment types, including wellness visits and sick pet exams. This fee will be required to be paid before any future services will be offered.

Surgical and Dental Procedures

There will be a $200 fee for surgical and dental procedures cancelled later than noon on the Friday prior to the week of surgery. This fee will be assessed if the client/pet fail to show up for the surgery, and this penalty will apply to situations in which a pet is not adequately prepared for anesthesia and surgery due to the client failing to follow fasting instructions.

Why This Policy is Important

As we a re sure you are aware, there is a dire shortage of veterinary care available to our community, forcing us to turn away patients every single day. Last minute appointment openings leave those pets without care who otherwise could have been seen so we are doing our absolute best to serve as many pets in need as possible in the time we have available. 

How to Cancel or Reschedule

To cancel or reschedule your appointment, please call or text us at 802-467-8700 or email ehvsoffice@gmail.com during business hours. If you need to notify us after hours, leave a voicemail, text or email, and we will note the time sent, but the 24 business hour requirement will still apply.
